Columbia Protestor Demands “Humanitarian Aid” for Their Protest

As the pro-Palestine protests spread across multiple college campuses, they are growing increasingly violent and disruptive to anyone not agreeing with them. God forbid you be a Jewish person trying to get an education; then you are being blocked out from classes and administration buildings on many campuses despite paying tuition. Columbia’s protestors annexed Hamilton Hall, held school workers hostage, demanded the school not hold them responsible, and cut all financial ties with Israel.

The new face of their protests was identified as Johannah King-Slutzky after she presided over a press conference and discussed the demands of these protesters. Opening with a real zinger about her demands, she said, “First of all, we’re saying that they’re obligated to provide food for students who paid for a meal plan here.”

When asked what she meant by that, she seemed taken aback. “To allow it to be brought in. I guess it’s ultimately a question of what kind of community and obligation Columbia feels it has to its students. Do you want students to die of dehydration and starvation or get severely ill if they disagree with you? If the answer is no, then you should allow basic… I mean, it’s crazy to say because this is an Ivy League campus, but this is basic humanitarian aid we’re asking for, like could people please have a glass of water?”

Naturally, the challenge of their choice to put them in this position was raised, and again Slutzky’s response shows she was rattled by the question. “No one is asking for anything. We’re asking them to not violently stop us from bringing in basic humanitarian aid.”

At this point, it seems like she doesn’t quite grasp what humanitarian aid is, or why it doesn’t apply here. They aren’t being held there against their will, and nobody is preventing them from moving freely across campus or in and out of their classrooms. Hell, they can even go to the cafeteria and other eating facilities on campus and use them; meal plan or not. No denial of food, water, shelter, or even bathrooms is being made.

However, Slutzky and her cronies are blocking others from being allowed to move and learn freely. Perhaps it’s time she and some of her fellow pro-Palestine liberals go check this part of the world out for themselves. I’m sure they’ll be warmly welcomed.
