Rosie O’Donnell is back in the headlines—and not in a good way.
The former TV personality, who now resides in Ireland, delivered a rambling and profanity-laced tirade against President Donald Trump during a recent appearance on The Jim Acosta Show podcast. Speaking to the disgraced former CNN anchor, O’Donnell went on a lengthy rant filled with personal grievances, unverified claims, and emotional outbursts.
Acosta opened the door by suggesting Trump is “obsessed” with O’Donnell, prompting her to agree and launch into her familiar attacks on the president.
O’Donnell claimed that Trump has targeted her for years simply because she told what she called “factual, accurate information” about his bankruptcies and business background. She insisted that the real estate mogul went “batsh** crazy” over her comments, despite offering little in the way of fresh insight.
Among the more bizarre moments of the interview, O’Donnell alleged that she once received a sealed bottle of Trump-branded liquor that contained two dead flies. “I remember I had somebody gave me, he had some liquor company at one point and somebody gave me a bottle… with two bugs in it,” she told Acosta. She offered no proof of the claim but said she kept the bottle on her counter “for many, many years.”
O’Donnell also ridiculed Trump’s supposed lies about his wealth and his book sales, bizarrely adding that he “pretended to date Madonna” and was “never a man of any merit.”
She repeatedly framed herself as the target of a long-running Trump obsession, saying she refused to have him on her show, despite repeated requests. According to her, the one time he did appear was as a “sweeper,” not a guest—something she says infuriated him.
Her remarks quickly turned into an airing of personal grudges. “I grew up knowing that this man was the laughing stock of New York,” she claimed. “No one took him seriously.” She added that Trump’s fame is simply the result of TV producer Mark Burnett’s success in spinning him into a mogul on The Apprentice.
As the conversation continued, Acosta appeared more interested in feeding O’Donnell’s vendetta than challenging her claims. He echoed her contempt for Trump and offered no pushback on the dead flies story or her repeated personal jabs.
At one point, Acosta added his own bizarre note, saying he thought Trump Tower was “a dump.”
The podcast episode was widely circulated on left-wing social media accounts, but even some liberal listeners found the tone of the conversation more emotional than substantive.
While O’Donnell’s antagonism toward Trump is nothing new—the feud stretches back more than a decade—her latest performance underscored the depths to which Hollywood critics of the former president are willing to go, even as Trump’s approval numbers rise and his administration logs significant policy wins.
Trump has yet to respond to O’Donnell’s latest outburst. Given his past history with the comedian, it wouldn’t be surprising if he addresses it at one of his upcoming rallies or in a post on Truth Social.
In the meantime, O’Donnell’s strange recollection of bug-infested booze and her all-too-familiar rants are yet another example of a Hollywood elite unable to move on from the Trump obsession—even while living halfway around the world.
